Panasonic TC-P55VT50 is One Serious Plasma TV

Panasonic TC-P55VT50 is One Serious Plasma TV

For a thoroughbred of this quality, the Panasonic TC-P55VT50 is certainly worth its weight in gold. Although not one of the cheapest plasma TV’s around and lacking in 3D technology (crosstalk quite evident within picture) the Panasonic TC-P55VT50 still deserves respect and acknowledgement, mainly for its angled viewing capabilities, brightness (even in dark or dimly-lit rooms), extremely accurate colours, great screen uniformity and very deep black levels. The Panasonic TC-P55VT50 Amazon price oscillates between $1700 - $2200. What we liked about some of the accessories found in the Panasonic TC-P55VT50 is that they offer an alternative, as in the case of the remote control. There is the standard remote we all seem to know pretty well and then there is Panasonic’s neat thumb touch pad. Yes, you got it. You only need your thumb to master this little peach! What’s even more remarkable, especially when compared to Panasonic’s competitors, is that this gadget really works and, because it is so innovative and darn right cute we give it our thumbs up (forgive the pun!)

Need Help – Ask Your Plasma

Whilst the Panasonic TC-P55VT50 menu seems a little outdated and boring, we found the Help option to be very extensive and should help you solve any issues you have, especially doing setup. As we are all too aware of the intricacies involved in setting up shop, we have done our bit and introduced you to the User Guide here, even though you might not have already purchased the Panasonic TC-P55VT50. Still, it’s good to get a feel of what’s in store for you!

Smart TV and 3D – All in 1

Panasonic has made huge strides with its Smart TV platform Viera Cast and has not changed the interface or design for the Panasonic TC-P55VT50 either. This is probably a good thing, as it is all too common in technology to get used to something and then have it turned upside down or even made obsolete. We love our comfort zones! With Smart Tv you get the option of checking out your recently used apps, through a virtual page and there are plenty of free or payable apps to enjoy. Note that even if you do want to download free apps you will still need to sign in to an account, which can be discerning or bothersome for some.
3D, as we commented earlier, is included and, even though it is not the strongest feature in the Panasonic TC-P55VT50, we did expect some free 3D glasses, given the not-too-cheap price of the set.

Picture Quality Simply Sublime

There is no doubting that the Panasonic TC-P55VT50 is our favourite plasma TV in terms of picture quality. No other plasma came close to obtaining the definition, sharpness, contrast and brightness that the Panasonic TC-P55VT50 does, basking in all its splendour. The only slight chink in the armour of the colour is the Cyan hue x/y, which failed our colour test.
The Panasonic TC-P55VT50 specs are 55” 1080p Full HD 3D Plasma and the Panasonic TC-P55VT50 dimensions are 50.7” x 1.8” x 30.4” and weighs 66.2lbs.
If you are worried about energy consumption for your Panasonic TC-P55VT50 you might be right to do so! Plasmas are renowned for their thirst for power but switching to Default, rather than Calibrated should enable you to save up to $40 a year. The Panasonic TC-P55VT50 expenditure in watts, on the Default setting is 180.04 per year.

So Where Can I Get One?

Amazon is probably our tip suggestion for buying cheap TV’s online but you might be surprised to find that they sometimes divert you to other retailers, who might be slightly more expensive than other online sites. Surf around until you find the best deal.
